What is Indian Miniature Painting?

A work of fine art in miniature is a personal object that draws the viewer into an intimate concentrated little world, breath taking in its execution. One needs to view it from a very close range to appreciate aesthetically and technically.

Traditionally, everything from paper, brush even pigments were made from scratch so one piece would take weeks even months to finish. Often we can see the use of gold/silver leaf with some precious stones. With elaborated borders and calligraphy these paintings have very precious and royal status in Art.

This majestic art form was practiced in the regions of Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. Mainly it was book illustrations to record history, events, poetry and literature. The style varies from area to area. In my portfolio you’ll be able to view and differentiate between different school of thoughts and techniques.
